Gussie Belle Commons is being developed in Salem’s Northeast neighborhood consisting of nine three-story garden-style residential buildings and one single-story community building. The site design includes many outdoor amenities and unit amenities, including electric forced air heating and cooling, a dishwasher, microwave, and in-unit washers/dryers. There will be 1, 2, 3, and 4 bedroom units with 24 of the units at 30% AMI and 96 units at 60% AMI.
Home First Development and Green Light have signed a co-developer agreement with Salem-based, Blackled church, Seed of Faith Ministries. Seed of Faith has been serving the Salem community in various ways for over 25 years, creating and guiding programs to serve and shelter homeless individuals and families. SoFM’s leadership has a long track record of assisting people in moving into transitional housing, utilizing partnerships across different community organizations to provide affordable housing, employment opportunities, and benefits for daily living. As the co-developer of this development team, SoFM is bringing its leadership experience in serving the Salem community to this development. These existing partnerships will bring stability and prosperity to future residents. Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Agency (MWVCAA) will also be engaged to provide culturally responsive resident services.
